Pike State Forest (Day Hike)

Join the Co-op for a more casual hike late morning and into the afternoon. Plan for 6 miles along the Patoka River and through mixed hardwood and pine forest. We'll hike two 3-mile trails. Both hikes are moderately easy with gentle (but lengthy) inclines. We’ll eat lunch on the trail.

Plan to meet at Lowe's at 11:00 AM (CDT) to carpool to Pike State Forest. Pack your lunch and water in your day bag.

If meeting at Pike SF, park at the tower (pinned in the map)

WHAT TO BRING:

• sturdy shoes for hiking
• water (for drinking) and snacks
• packed lunch (can leave in car)
• Sunscreen and Bug spray

GROUND RULES:

• Dogs welcome on 6ft non-retractable leash.

NOTES:

• Please be aware that a section of the forest may still be closed for logging activities. Plan to enter from the North entrance on IN-364 instead of the South entrance on IN-64.
