Exploratory Hike: Clayton Hollow and Rim Rock

Join us for a day hike near Pounds Hollow (Shawnee National Forest) where we'll hike up 9-10 miles of Wilderness trails on Clayton Hollow. Expect ridges, valleys, and stately sandstone bluffs!

What to Bring

• Sturdy hiking shoes or boots
• Day pack
• Water (at least 1L)
• Snacks and/or packed lunch
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Weather-appropriate clothing (dress in layers)
• Walking stick or hiking poles (optional)
• Clean shoes for the car ride home (leave in the car)

Schedule

ALL TIMES LISTED IN CENTRAL TIME (CST/CDT)

• 8:00 AM: Meet at Lowe's (Oak Grove Rd) to carpool
• 9:45 AM: Arrive at trailhead, begin hike
• 12:00 PM: Lunch on the trail
• 3:30 PM: Return to parking lot
• 5:00 PM: Arrive back at carpool location

Ground Rules

• Dogs on a 6-ft fixed leash. Can be off-leash only while on trail.

Notes

This will be my first time at Thacker or Pounds Hollows, so expect some adjustments as we roll along.
