Overnight Camping at Jackson Falls

After our day hike at Jackson Falls, we'll set up camp nearby in the dispersed camping area.

We'll stay overnight and pack out Sunday before our Sunday adventure.

WHERE TO MEET:

If you're not already hiking Jackson Falls with us, plan to meet at camp. (see the map links below). We'll be at camp by about 4:00pm.

WHAT TO BRING:

• wool socks
• 20F or lower sleeping bag
• sleeping pad
• lightweight tent with rainfly to shield wind
• water (bring a couple gallons)
• food: Saturday campsite dinner, Sunday breakfast,
• snacks
• flashlight
• toiletries
• mess kit
• sunscreen
• bug spray

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• We'll park at the campsite. So you can 'overpack' and pack for comfort.
• April weather is a crapshoot. Plan for nighttime temperatures below freezing.
• Watch the forecast to make appropriate adjustments to your gear.
• We'll make a fire at the campsite. But we will need to purchase firewood locally.
• Dress in layers... temps may change drastically throughout the day and overnight.
• It's hunting season, so wear bright colors.

COST:

• Free. No park entrance fees and camping fees.

GROUND RULES:

• No children
• Dogs permitted with organizer approval.

NOTES:

• I'll have my trail dog, Henry with me.
• I recommend treating your clothes and gear with permethrin before this trip.
