2nd-Day-of-Christmas Hike

Join Evansville Outdoors for a post-Holiday hike at the Springs Valley in the Hoosier National Forest near Paoli, IN.

Plan to meet at Lowe's at 8:30 AM (CST). We'll carpool to HNF for a day of hiking. Hiking begins by 10:00a. Lunch will be eaten on the trail.

We'll hike the loop around Tucker Lake (9mi) over the course of ~4 hours.

Schedule

ALL TIMES ARE LISTED IN CENTRAL STANDARD (CST)

8:30a - Meet at Lowe's to carpool
10:00a - Arrive at trailhead
12:00a - Lunch on trail
3:00p - depart for evansville
4:30p - arrive in Evansville

What to Bring

• sturdy shoes for hiking
• water (for drinking) and snacks
• Packed lunch (in your day bag)
• Sunscreen and Bug spray
• walking stick or hiking poles (optional)
• clean shoes for the car ride

Other Things to Note

• These are horse trails. Expect gravel and mud at times.
• Trails are rated moderate due to varied terrain and steep elevation changes.
• There are pit toilets at the parking lot.

• Dogs permitted only upon approval from organizer
• Dogs are permitted off-leash on HNF trails, but otherwise must be on six-foot leash.
• Leave no trace, and pack out all your trash.
