Exploration Series: Howell Wetlands

I’m scouting locations for future events, and you’re welcome to join. Expect a casual pace, some wandering, and a bit of unknown since we’ll be figuring things out as we go.

• Difficulty: Easy
• Length: 2 miles
• Terrain: Most of the trails are surfaced with mulch or wooden boardwalks. The trails traverse uneven terrain and may be muddy or soggy, especially after rain.
• Pace: Relaxed.

What to Bring

• Long pants
• Sturdy hiking shoes or boots
• Day pack
• Water (at least 1L)
• Snacks and/or packed lunch (can leave in car)
• Sunscreen and bug spray
• Walking stick or hiking poles (optional)
• Clean shoes for the car ride home (leave in the car)

Schedule

No strict itinerary. Plan for 1-2 hours outside.

Ground Rules

• Leave no trace, pack out all your trash.
• Dogs permitted on 6ft fixed leash.
