Kayaking Spree on Lake Celina

Join us for a day on Lake Celina. There's no destinations to achieve... just get out and explore and socialize at your leisure. --- More Break --- We'll begin Saturday morning at the Lake Celina boat ramp. Kayak at your own pace around the lake. There's picnic tables at the boat ramp if you'd like to bring dinner in a cooler. You can also pack lunch in a dry bag and eat wherever and whenever you'd like. I recommend bringing a swimsuit so you can cool off in the water! Swimming is permitted in embayments at least 300ft from the boat ramp. Dogs are permitted, but must be on-leash at recreational areas (e.g., the boat ramp).

WHERE TO MEET:

Meet either at Lowe's to carpool (7:30 CDT) or at the boat ramp parking lot (9 CDT / 10 EDT).

WHO SHOULD JOIN:

Anyone with a kayak, SUP, raft, or other floating vessel that wants to spend the day on the lake.

WHAT TO BRING:

• A watercraft with which you’re comfortablertable paddling 1/4 mile. (Kayak, SUP, canoe, etc.)
• PFD (required)
• sunscreen / sunglasses / hat (highly recommended)
• dry sacks for your gear
• a spare change of dry clothes (in your vehicle) in case you get wet
• water
• lunch in your dry bag
• swim suit (optional, but highly recommended)

WHAT TO EXPECT:

• You're probably going to get wet.
• We'll definitely swim, likely once we reach the southern beach.

COST:

$5 per vehicle at the main gate

• No children
• Dogs permitted. (Must be on 6-foot leash at the boat ramp / parking lot).
• no DNR Lake Permit is required (this is Federal property, not State)
