Yellowwood State Forest

Join Evansville Outdoors for a day hike in the Yellowwood State Forest near Nashville, IN.

If Carpooling plan to meet at Lowe's at 9:00 AM (CST). We'll carpool to Yellowwood for a day of hiking. Otherwise meet at the trailhead parking to begin hiking by 11:30a. Lunch will be eaten on the trail.

We'll hike the loop around the lake (4.5mi) over the course of ~3 hours. With options to add miles as we go depending on how we feel.

When/Where to Meet

• 9:00a - Meet at Lowe's to carpool
• 11:30a - Arrive at trailhead
• 12:30p - Lunch on trail
• 2:30p - depart for Evansville
• 4:30p - arrive in Evansville

• sturdy shoes for hiking
• water (for drinking) and snacks
• Packed lunch (in your day bag)
• Sunscreen and Bug spray
• walking stick or hiking poles (optional)
• clean shoes for the car ride

Other Notes:

• These are mixed-use trails.
• There are a few creek crossings. Expect mud.
• Trails are rated moderate due to varied terrain and steep elevation changes.

Ground Rules:

• Dogs permitted only upon approval from organizer
• Dogs must be on six-foot leash.
• Leave no trace, and pack out all your trash.
