Labor Day Weekend Adventure

Let's Kick off the start of the Fall Outdoor Season with a long weekend at the beautiful Red River George Geological Area in Daniel Boone National Forest.

Known for spectacular rock formations and sandstone arches Red River George offers a large variety of activities for us to explore and enjoy. We can hike scenic canyon trails, kayak the Red River, and (if you are so inclined) climb and repel magnificent rock faces.

This is a 4-day, 3-night trip.

Where to Meet

For Carpooling meet at Lowe’s (Oak Grove).

We will have to limit the number of cars due to limited parking at the campground.

What to Bring

Pack appropriately for:

• Car-camping (Koomer Ridge Campground)
• Day-Hiking
• Swimming
• Kayaking
• Rock Climbing

What to Expect

Plan for sun, rain, and temps from 60-90F.
Watch the forecast to make appropriate adjustments to your gear.
Bring long pants, in case of biting insects.

Ground Rules

• No children.
• Dogs must be approved by Host due to restrictions
• Leave no trace, and pack out all your trash.

Notes

• It is recommended to treat your clothes and gear with permethrin before this trip.
• We will try to coordinate meals to save on supplies.
• The cost of $20 is to help cover the cost of the campground.
