SHORT NOTICE: Buff Boulders / Buzzard Roost / Hemlock Cliffs

Spontaneity is the spice of life!

Today, I want to check out an area called Buff Boulders -- it's a rock outcrop that's supposedly good for climbing. We can practice rappelling or just explore.

I also want to visit Buzzard Roost (a nice, short and scenic trail) and also Hemlock Cliffs to do some real rappelling and/or hiking.

If you want to try rappelling and don't have a harness, we can make you a Swiss-seat of webbing. It's not super comfy, but it's effective and you're not wearing it very long. :)

• Difficulty: Easy/Moderate hikes
• Length: 3-4 miles total

WHAT TO BRING

• Sturdy shoes for hiking
• Day Bag
• Seat harness (if you have one) to rappel
• Helmet and gloves (must haves) to rappel
• Water (for drinking) and snacks
• Packed lunch (eaten on trail)
• Sunscreen and Bug spray
• Walking stick or hiking poles (optional)
• Clean shoes for the car ride (leave in the car)

WHEN/WHERE

• 11:30 CDT / 12:30 EDT - Arrive at Buff Boulders
• Lunch at cars on trail
• ... the rest is played by ear!

GROUND RULES

• Leave no trace, and pack out all your trash.
• No children.
• Dogs on a 6-ft fixed leash. Can be off-leash only while on trail.
